Well, Jorginho has solved his problem because in this case it needed
add the video parameters specifying a resolution on the kernel or a
common boot loader like GRUB or Syslinux or LILO to works. Sometime
ago, i had a similar problem with my Geforce 9800 GT card, and it was
because with my previous monitor was an unknown model that generated
problems with KMS because nouveau didn't knew it resolution.
Otherwise, in my opinion radeon should works well with KMS without do
anything and i don't think with these issues should be related to lack
of Radeon firmware, but we should consider it too if even so, adding
the video parameters the problem persists.
