[Dev] providing libre sources without breaking the server (maybe)

Since the mksource() isn't  quite functioning as it should perhaps I'm not
fully up to speed. 

how many of the above (previous post) points would it hit if functioning as
intended?

No sense re-inventing the wheel if the one we got just needs the dust blown
off.
