i noticed that libremakepkg has options to control mounting ro or
rw - maybe that was intended to me the solution all along

  -w <PATH[:INSIDE_PATH[:OPTIONS]]>     Bind mount a file or
directory, read/write
  -r <PATH[:INSIDE_PATH[:OPTIONS]]>     Bind mount a file or
directory, read-only
