Flathub is not a central repository like npm, but rather one flatpak
repo. It works similar to pacman in that flatpak only uses the repos
provided. While it would be hard to create a your-freedom style
flatpak, there could be a completely free flatpak repo to use instead
of flathub. Purism is interested in getting one of these set up for
PureOS,
and I've mentioned the idea of splitting Flathub's nonfree apps off
from the free apps
so an FSDG-compliant distro could use Flathub in the #flatpak channel
on freenode.
Parabola could also set up a repo or work with one of the mentioned
parties to address the situation.
