[Dev] Is Iridium safe to use?

I read a thread about Chromium having issues to be considered free
software. But what about iridium?

It is listed on the FSF directory:  https://directory.fsf.org/wiki/Iridium

But as it is based on Chromium and you have discussed this before, I
wanted to ask your opinion.
