it is generally not a good idea to ignore packages for that
reason (only to force other packages to upgrade) - the result is
a partial upgrade, which can cause other problems - the conflict
is desirable - that is pacman doing it's job, by protecting
other programs from breaking due to upgrading packages which are
not ready to be upgraded
the best thing to do in that situation, is to open a bug report
(if one does not exist already), or read the existing bug report
if one exists - the conflict will be resolved, usually within a
few days
