Every time that I disconnect (wired connection), I get this: $ lxpanelctl run No protocol specified Cant connect to display: :0 The same message shows up for other applications. I created a bug report https://labs.parabola.nu/issues/2039#note-1 but I can understand that people are busy with other more relevant stuff. I would appreciate your help, because it is really annoying! :) Thanks. ------------------------------------------------- ONLY AT VFEmail! - Use our Metadata Mitigator to keep your email out of the NSA's hands! $24.95 ONETIME Lifetime accounts with Privacy Features! 15GB disk! Basically, If those are misconfigured a situation can arise where X11 thinks you are a remote machine and denies access to the X11 display. Make sure you have a hostname set Make sure there is an entry fir that name in /etc/hosts linking the name to localhost i.e.: 127.0.0.1 yourHostName ::1 yourHostName and the like. Also check that DHCP is not setting a hostname somehow. Are you using NetworkManager? Do you have dnsmasq installed? This way I could add a tap interface with DNS resolution like this: nmcli connection add type tun connection.interface-name tap0 \ tun.mode tap tun.owner $(id -u) ipv4.method shared \ ipv4.addresses 172.28.113.1/24 macvtap does not allow for host-to-guest connections AFAIK, so I use tap. I am not using virt-manager though; I do not know how to make virt-manager use tap0. In qemu I do qemu-system-x86_64 my-vm.img -m 256 -nic \ tap,ifname=tap0,script=no,downscript=no Then in the VM I can look up its IP address with the `ip addr` command and can ssh into it or visit its web server. If you're running a standard 'base' install, that will be systemd-udev. Unfortunately, when updating a system from before the systemd/udev split, pacman chooses the wrong choice as the default, simply because 'notsystemd-udev' comes before 'systemd-udev' alphabetically. -- Happy hacking, ~ Luke Shumaker
