this is an [old dog](https://labs.parabola.nu/issues/969)
in our texlive distribution, yet it _shouldn't_ pose an
impact on most users. the topic gets raised every now and
then, as in
[this 
thread](https://lists.parabola.nu/pipermail/dev/2017-December/006153.html).

tl;dr:
parabola has to remove some fonts and what not from the
zip sources distributed by Arch for the sake of license
compliance. the cleanup could probably be made more gracious,
however.

it's a great area of opportunity for anyone wanting to
contribute to parabola in a non-mundane way (as opposed
to just bringing our ~1-year-old texlive packages to
date, like i did.)

let me know if you observe anything unusually wrong with
this update.
