Thank you for your feedback!
I prefer to choose Realtek instead of Atheros. Indeed, Atheros only recently has their hardware "liberated". So I prefer to give my money (and so my support) to Realtek. I have also checked that Atheros is using the ISC licence. I believe the GPL licence is safer / better. I have the choice so why not choose the best? :D
Regarding the faster 802.11n protocol, I do not need to be Flash or Superman ;-) a normal / classical speed of wireless exchanges over Internet would be fair enough. I am not working with Big Data (for the moment).

My question is how to search for end products in the shop at the corner of my street for example?
How can someone check if the chip model of the end product is rtl8187 (for example)? Only by checking the products one by one inside the shop or is there a list with specific end products / models that contain the rtl8187 chip?
