Yes, we did iceweasel nonprism version strengthen to protect the end user from security and privacy threats. (those modifications were suggested by Gaming4JC [0] who is one of our hackers) > I saw on your link the user pref to change it on the nonprism version, > should we test it or is it useless to use the non prism with the user > pref changed as it would get the same results as the no non prism version? You can edit your preferences in about:config or a user.js file in ~/.mozilla from nonprism version or any version without problems. I am a newbie in Arch-based GNU + Linux distros, so I would like to ask your advice on a peculiar problem with my laptop. This device utilizes a AMD A-8 5550M quad-core CPU, and overheating problem arises if I am using GNU Linux-libre kernel (I tried ones from 3.14 to 4.7). The processor reacts to any task by maxing out his frequency, and the only way I found to prevent overheating is locking the CPU speed as low as possible. Under Trisquel GNU/Linux-libre I used _cpufreq-set_ to set the upper frequency limit to 1.4 GHz for each of CPU cores. However, I was not able to found _cpufrequtils_ in Parabola's repositories.? My current solution is running this from the root account: echo "1400000" > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_max_freq echo "1400000" > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu1/cpufreq/scaling_max_freq echo "1400000" > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu2/cpufreq/scaling_max_freq echo "1400000" > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu3/cpufreq/scaling_max_freq Then I just log out from root and go to my usual account. However, i cannot find a way to make this setting persistent (and maybe not requiring logging into root), for Parabola does not react on /etc/rc.local file even if it is set executable. Could you please give me a hint about how to lock the CPU max frequency persistently? If you need any additional information - I am ready to provide it. Thank you very much for your attention to my question. Have a good day and please excuse my bad English. From foodatrix at hotmail.com Sun Oct 30 00:06:42 2016 From: foodatrix at hotmail.com (Simon Heath) Date: Sun, 30 Oct 2016 12:06:42 +1300 Subject: [Assist] 200ms video lag in mplayer and vlc Message-ID: <20161030120642.322cffdf@para.fritz.box> -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA256 Hi, I'm getting video lag by 200ms in all video players using the nouveau driver. I thought it was an audio problem at first, but now I think it's video lag. I'm using XFCE and compton. I turned off compton and it still does it. I'm not using VPDAU. I have a GTX660. Audio info (.asoundrc) pcm.!default.type plug; pcm.default.slave.pcm.type hw; pcm.default.slave.pcm.card 1; It does it with both onboard and usb audio to my dac, which is why I think it could be a video issue. I have tried vlc on Windows on the same computer with no issues.
