They don't have a good record in the eyes of many software freedom and privacy advocates. Speaking for myself, despite having been included in the Free Software Directory I'm still wary of Iridium. I don't know how Iridium compares to Chromium in terms of the clarity of its license notices, which was one of the grievances against Chromium. And even if Iridium is free and its developers well-meaning, the fact that they have to play a sort of catch-22 to find and remove all of Google's intentionally-implanted privacy leaks puts me off. I would like to hear a bit more from the person who added it to the FSD or any other reviewer before taking for granted it's free; then I would have to be convinced that Iridium is reasonably trustworthy. I really appreciate it. You can either do the "wrong" thing and make a symbolic link to libncurses.so.6 from libncurses.so or try to downgrade/upgrade the ncruses package until you find which one provides so.6. In case if no package actually did provide it, then just go the symbolic link route. [[[ My mailing client only replied to Scott and not the mailing list for whatever reason, so I apologize to Scott for two messages. ]]] I'd say the core PKGBUILD is faulty. I'd try the one from AUR, I don't see it pulling any non-free depends. https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/arduino/ Install libxtst too, the comments say it may be a missing depend. I was not logged in to my e-mail, while troubleshooting still, and came up with a different solution. I should have tried this in the first place. I'm running Trisquel GNU/Linux on my x200, and arduino runs fine, so I figured that ilbncurses.so.5 is there somewhere. I then located it, copied it, and then placed the copy in my /usr/lib on my Parabola GNU/Linux pc. Uploaded to my Arduino board successfully!
