Like Ramana said, try setting the UA string to Firefox's (Trisquel Abrowser uses the Firefox UA string). Also, at least for a while, we were having local storage disabled by default in about:config (dom.storage.enabled), though I think we've stopped doing that in recent versions. That broke a lot of sites for silly reasons. (Side note: If you want the privacy boost of disabling it, I recommend using the Self Destructing Cookies addon to empty the storage for a site once you leave the site). If neither of those work, I'd suggest to log in on Trisquel with the network developer tab open, and record the requests associated with login (copy them as curl or whatever). Then do the same on Parabola, and compare. -- Happy hacking, ~ Luke Shumaker From ramana at member.fsf.org Fri Feb 12 22:10:18 2016 From: ramana at member.fsf.org (Ramana Kumar) Date: Sat, 13 Feb 2016 09:10:18 +1100 Subject: [Assist] No sound in Iceweasel Message-ID: Hi all, I'm having trouble with not getting any sound out of Iceweasel (1:44.0.deb1-1). Other applications (e.g., mpv) produce sound fine, so I know the rest of my setup is OK. I tried running iceweasel in safe mode with a fresh profile, and watched for any relevant debug messages, but saw nothing, but still no sound when trying to, say, watch an HTML5 video. (The video plays, but no sound.) Running something like google-talkplugin in iceweasel works fine (produces and receives sound). (Of course in safe mode, this plugin does not run, so I don't think it is the problem.) Any tips for how to debug this? All the blacklists are disjoint sets, and your-freedom is considered the most basic of all. your-freedom_emu and your-privacy only extend the list of packages blacklisted by your-freedom, they are not meant to compete with your-freedom. This wiki page https://wiki.parabola.nu/Emulator_licensing_issues explains the reasoning behind having a your-freedom_emu package. In summary, some free emulators have nonfree dependencies (which is reason enough to be listed in your-freedom); and some others, while completely free, have no known use with free software or lack free development tools that would eventually allow for free software games to be run on them. Parabola adds those to your-freedom_emu, and while we don't recommend installing free software emulators for the sake of running nonfree software, it's up to the user to decide whether he/she wants to install a completely useless yet completely free emulator. > 2) The package `figlet' in Arch's Extra repo is not in Parabola's > repo. However, after I downgrade iceweasel to 43.0.4, its user agent is the same as firefox 43.0 on Windows 7 32-bit when I use Random Agent Spoofer, but I also see a background-only page when I use my real profile. So I think there must be some other thing with it. > >> ?_______________________________________________ >> ?Assist mailing list >> ?Assist at lists.parabola.nu >> ?https://lists.parabola.nu/mailman/listinfo/assist > > _______________________________________________ > Assist mailing list > Assist at lists.parabola.nu > https://lists.parabola.nu/mailman/listinfo/assist
