if xrandr cannot detect your other monitor, it means you are in a uglier problem that we first though. You say
that in other free distros the monitor is detected and works, right? Try to check which modules[1] are loaded
in that distro, and the package to which it belongs. But search only for those modules related to the video
and/or graphic card (otherwise you will end with a bunch of unnecessary trash).

The next step would be looking at your Parabola system, and see if the modules loaded by other free distro are
loaded by your system, if not, looking to load them and if they aren't available looking for a way to obtain
them or information to why they aren't included with the kernel or in the repository, etc.
