[Assist] Trouble trouble

Ok, let's see if I can get you caught up.

First off I am called whistlewright on freenode and a bunch of other places.

Secondly, I use a Lemote Yeelong.

Thirdly, I have some very lazy habits about updating. The Lemote had not been updated in six months.

Wednesday night it took a very patient lukeshu more than five hours to help me get my computer up to sudo pacmam -Syu where it downloaded almost 600 updates. I went through the process up to the point where it told me about file conflicts with more than 100 of the files.

Encyclomundi gave me a couple of hints on what to do with that but it was almost midnight and I have a 5am wake up call so I set the computer aside at the point where I needed to resolve the file conflicts.

I left the computer powered on figuring it would be unwise to power off until it was updated as we removed initscripts during updating.

Well guess what, the power went off or was not plugged in properly or the battery died or something. Anyway the computer powered off.

So now when I boot it goes through a whole bunch of stuff so fast that I can't see what it is doing and then hangs up trying to find a window manager, which is dwm if it matters.

Now I am at a total loss as to what to do here. I've not messed about with boot scripts and such.

What do I do?

I am relegated to using my phone and a tablet for the time being so my being in IRC for any length of time may be an issue as that app kills batteries.

Thanks,
