A KDE dialog box would appear stating Plasma needed an engine, asking me if I wished to search for it. The search returned no results. The message said the missing engine was something like org.kde.activites. I iinstalled Icewm to use until the KDE upgrade issues are resolved. However, dolphin wouldn't start in Icewm after this first group of upgrades. A second group of updates were available this morning, so I know you guys are working on the fix. The following packages were upgraded: [2013-04-06 11:48] [PACMAN] upgraded kdebase-konqueror-libre (4.10.1-1 -> 4.10.2-1) [2013-04-06 11:49] [PACMAN] upgraded kdebase-runtime-libre (4.10.1-1 -> 4.10.2-1) [2013-04-06 11:49] [PACMAN] upgraded kdelibs-libre (4.10.1-2 -> 4.10.2-1) [2013-04-06 11:49] [PACMAN] upgraded kdepim-libkdepim-libre (4.10.1-1 -> 4.10.2-1) [2013-04-06 11:49] [PACMAN] upgraded kdepim-akregator-libre (4.10.1-1 -> 4.10.2-1) [2013-04-06 11:49] [PACMAN] upgraded kdepim-kaddressbook-libre (4.10.1-1 -> 4.10.2-1) [2013-04-06 11:49] [PACMAN] upgraded kdepim-kleopatra-libre (4.10.1-1 -> 4.10.2-1) [2013-04-06 11:49] [PACMAN] upgraded kdepim-kmail-libre (4.10.1-1 -> 4.10.2-1) [2013-04-06 11:49] [PACMAN] upgraded kdepim-korganizer-libre (4.10.1-1 -> 4.10.2-1) [2013-04-06 11:49] [PACMAN] upgraded kdeutils-ark-libre (4.10.1-1.1 -> 4.10.2-1) Once these updates were applied, the KDE desktop still wouldn't load, but there was no longer a dialog box requesting the org.kde.activities engine. It appears that none of my KDE settings are detected when KDE attempts to load, since my desktop wallpaper never appears, although the default KDE wallpaper does appear. . Additionally, the 'Activities' button appears as a rectangle in the upper right hand corner of the screen, whereas I have KDE set to show the 'Activities' in the 'cashew' style button in the upper left-hand corner of the screen when my personal KDE settings are detected. There is no toolbar (kicker of whatever it's called now) when KDE loads either, nor do the RAM or CPU plasma activities appear, even though I have them set to appear on the desktop in my personal KDE settings. I do not know if I need to do anything to make this work, because I suspect all of this is due to bugs in the recent KDE 4.10.2 updates, but I wanted to let the Parabola developers aware of these issues. Also, I have never been able to install Parabola on my desktop from the Parabola iso. I have to install Arch first, then migrate the install to Parabola, which does work perfectly. However, if I can supply any information to the Parabola developers that would help make the iso installable on my desktop, I would be happy to do what I can. Charles
